Our flagship initiative, Charge Into the EV World, specifically targets the growing need for sustainable transportation solutions by engaging students with the science and technology behind electric vehicles (EVs). This program underscores our commitment to climate action by demonstrating the environmental benefits of transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources.
Our vision extends globally, as we foster international collaborations through our Global STEM Collaboration project. This initiative connects students across continents to work on joint projects, sharing insights and developing solutions that transcend borders. By doing so, we aim to cultivate a globally aware generation equipped to tackle worldwide environmental issues.
In our pursuit to make STEM education more accessible and effective, we are also pioneering the development of AI-driven online educational platforms. These platforms provide personalized learning experiences and access to a wealth of digital resources that make learning interactive and engaging. Dr. Linda B. Knight has been a pivotal figure in the field of science education, dedicating over fifty years to the development and distribution of innovative educational programs. She holds an Ed.D. in Science Education from Indiana University and has contributed significantly to both earth and environmental science education. Dr. Knight's work includes authoring the "CHARGE INTO THE EV WORLD," a high school science supplement that addresses global warming, electric vehicles, and smart green energy infrastructure. Her extensive experience includes thirty years of teaching science in public schools, and she has served as Co-Director of the Houston ISD/Rice University Model Science Laboratory. Dr. Knight’s commitment to STEM education is reflected in her leadership within several national educational organizations and her receipt of numerous awards, including the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Teaching.
Shazia Iqbal, as the Executive Director of the STEM Citizens Foundation, brings a robust background in educational leadership and curriculum development. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction and an Executive MBA from Rice University. Her career highlights include scaling educational programs and leading strategic partnerships that enhance educational frameworks across various communities. Shazia is known for her adept skills in fundraising and grant writing, which have been instrumental in advancing the foundation’s objectives. Her approach is deeply rooted in fostering inclusive educational environments that are accessible to diverse populations, demonstrating her commitment to community-centric education.
Shari Hildbrandt plays a crucial role in the operations and management of the STEM Citizens Foundation, overseeing the strategic execution of its missions and programs. With a strong background in administrative leadership, Shari ensures that the foundation's daily operations align with its long-term goals. Her expertise is critical in developing strategic plans that enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
